Centro Antroposofico

Dear guests, dear friends,
"Lanzarote is dressed in green, it's pleasantly warm, the sea is still good for swimming and the sunsets are becoming more and more spectacular.... A good time to be here; also here in the Centre..." This is what Mikaela Nowak wrote on Friday as an introduction to the current weekly programme (you can subscribe if you are interested).
It would be difficult to express more aptly how Lanzarote is showing itself these weeks. Due to the early September rains, the "greened" volcanoes are reminiscent of the lush Irish landscape.
Once again, the island's capacity for change is fascinating: when, in the fertile volcanic subsoil, dormant seeds are able to germinate, grow and blossom in just a few weeks with just a little precious moisture.

We take this revealing image as a symbol of our human situation: the capacity for change in difficult external times, the reflection on inner strength, creativity and the richness within us. It needs inspiration from the outside, it needs (free) space, attention and self-activation to build the much-talked-about resilience that ensures our health in these times.
The Anthroposophical Centre Lanzarote sees itself as a place that does good in this respect. Immerse yourself in the mild, year-round healing climate of this sun-drenched volcanic island and connect with the forces of nature, which are experienced here with special intensity and purity. Learn about anthroposophic and other effective healing methods and feel their effects directly. Experience the qualities of encounter and human exchange at events, seminars and stimulating conversations...

After two years of the pandemic, the change of generations in the Foundation and the reorientation of several central fields of action, the first new approaches are becoming visible.

New Doctor in the Therapy Centre
With the aim of a long-term cooperation as the new medical director of the Therapy House, Dr. Lara Sonnevend has initially made an appointment with us for the current winter season. We wish her a good start and a good settling in on the island and will be happy to introduce her in more detail at the next opportunity.

The team of the therapy house is newly formed, with additional staff and a cooperative overall team. The cures and offers will be revised in the coming year to meet even more therapeutic and contemporary requirements.
Renovations
In the Centre and in the Finca, some flats have already been refurbished: new beds and mattresses for more comfortable sleeping, replacement of bed linen, towels and a refreshment of the overall impression.

The Centre's reception has been renovated and now offers comfortable seating and a bright and friendly welcome to guests.

The computer room next to the restaurant was used less and less. With mobile phones, laptops and tablets, guests no longer have to rely on fixed computer connections. We are redesigning the room to make it a welcoming meeting place. Soon, guests will have access to a coffee machine and seating for informal meetings in the sheltered indoor area, even if it gets colder and windier outside on winter evenings. A considerable collection of anthroposophical literature, novels, works of fiction and current magazines invite you to browse and linger.
Of course, television will continue to be available to everyone here.

By Christmas, the Centre's lounge will also be renovated. The first small steps will be followed by bigger ones next spring.
Advent and Christmas
In terms of content, we welcome you with an extensive cultural programme this autumn and winter:
During Advent, we will accompany the run-up to Christmas as a walk through the darkness with many inspiring events.
The weekly eurhythmy to the weekly sayings offers a deeper dive into the themes of Advent.
With various offers in the evenings, outdoors under the starry sky, we want to make the connection between the stars and the earth more tangible with perception exercises and meditations under the open sky.
Sensory exercises, sounds and eurythmy will train our perception in an experiential way in spectacular places on the island: on the cliff of Puerto Calero at sunset or in the Ajaches (the oldest mountain range in the south of the island) before sunrise or on the easily accessible volcano Montana del Cuervo in December with a full moon and on the finca with a new moon in the dark.
For those who are not so good on foot, other activities are offered in the therapy house and in the rooms of the Centre, such as carol singing together and meditative chanting.

This year's Christmas programme was jointly conceived by the people active on site: In addition to concerts and festive evenings, the Christmas season will include work with the Gospel of John: Together with the interested parties and the inhabitants of Lanzarote in the vicinity of the Centre, we want to give a new impulse to this year's Christmas work, which will not only focus on Christmas, but also on the birth of Christ on 6 January, related to the central motif "Christ in you" - the birth of the Spirit of Christ in man.
You can find the detailed programme on our website: activity calendar.

We look forward to many inspiring encounters.
